Cellulite needs no introduction – it appears as a dimpling of the skin particularly under and surrounding the buttocks and at the back of the thighs.

The subcutaneous layer of our skin is made up of connective tissue that is interlaced with fat cells held together by a network of fibres. When excess fat, fluids and toxins are trapped in the skin, the connective tissue thickens and hardens, giving a dimpling effect. As we age, our collagen weakens and the fibrous bands are not as elastic, resulting in the dimpled appearance of cellulite.

Treatment

Medical Indiba® uses a new generation Proionic® System of radio frequency to remodel tissue deeply underlying the skin and stimulate the production of elastin and new collagen, as well as reduce fat deposits in the target area.

A hand held device is glided over your target area in a series of firm and relaxing sweeping motions. Radiofrequency energy at a specialised frequency of 448 kHz is delivered into the target area safely and effectively without affecting the upper epidermis of the skin.

Recommended treatment: For best results, a series of 6 to 10 sessions 2 times a week during the initial treatment stage. Thereafter, 1 session per month or every quarter is recommended for maintenance (depending on skin quality).

The treatment is warm and pleasant, without pain or downtime.

With multiple treatments, the fibrous connective tissue will build up collagen progressively. As a result, the therapy restores skin elasticity, strengthens the dermis layer and surrounding soft tissues and improves the “orange-peel” appearance of cellulite skin.

In addition, the treatment increases cellular metabolism, micro-circulation and lymphatic drainage. This promotes the overall health of skin tissue and promotes tissue repair. Results continue to improve over several weeks after the end of the protocol as cellular metabolism is improved and new collagen forms and strengthens.

With the recommended protocol and an appropriate diet, you will experience a reduction in the circumference of the target area, smoothening of skin and an improvement in skin elasticity. Before and immediately after the therapy, avoid the consumption of alcohol and caffeine based beverages. Refrain from visiting the sauna or other heated environments after the therapy for at least 24 hours. Stay hydrated to allow your body to naturally flush away metabolised fatty acids after the treatment.
